We would like you to join us at the MUN Institute this summer at Georgetown, Columbia, or Harvard! In our ground breaking Diplomat Program, delegates learn about global issues and how to solve them through Model United Nations simulations. The Diplomat program is a five day (six night) experiential learning program where students develop their public speaking confidence, fundamental research skills, and negotiation techniques through simulations, labs, and feedback. The program culminates in a final all day Model United Nations simulation. All students take classes on campus, live in dormitories, and experience what it is like to be a college student! We also offer weekend extension tours where students visit landmarks in the city they visit!
Over one hundred students from IDEA Public Schools have attended the MUN Institute and they have gone on to create Model UN Programs, be student leaders, and get accepted into top universities! One of our students from IDEA Mission, Rebecca was accepted to Harvard! Rebecca said that, “Model UN has helped me to be a better leader in my school!” To learn more about Rebecca’s Story click here.
The ideal student enjoys learning, is interested in international relations, wants to know more about the United Nations, is open to new experiences, likes to meet new people, and is interested in participating in Model UN throughout High School.
To apply for the program speak with your project coordinator and submit the required 1 page application by February 1st!
Thanks to the hard work of students, teachers, and administrators IDEA Public Schools are able to provide scholarships for students to attend the MUN Institute free of charge!
