D Level 1: Diplomat

Solve global problems. Speak with confidence.

This is what students learn in Model United Nations.

This is how your child can become a future leader.

IMG_1696The Diplomat Program is Level 1 of the MUN Institute. The program is designed for high school students ages 14-18 who have no MUN experience, or who have a little experience but want to improve their MUN skills. In the Diplomat Program, students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to be successful and have fun while participating in Model United Nations.

The Diplomat Program introduces high school students to current events and global issues. It helps them practice public speaking and negotiation. It encourages them to understand different points of view and experience different cultures. The MUN Institute also helps students develop self-confidence. It helps them succeed in high school, get into college, and prepare them for their careers.

The Diplomat Program teaches students the fundamentals of Model United Nations. Students learn:

  • How to make speeches, including our speech frameworks & public speaking style tips;
  • Introductory lessons on MUN rules of procedure;
  • How to research a country and write research papers about global issues;
  • How to negotiate with others in order to solve global problems and create realistic solutions in MUN committees;
  • An easy to follow, step-by-step process for preparing for any type of Model UN conference;
  • and much, much more.

Students get daily one-on-one feedback on their MUN skills, especially on their public speaking skills. Our MUN Mentors are the best and most successful college MUN leaders from prestigious colleges in North America and around the world. Our Mentors guide students through MUN simulations, including an all-day final simulation at the end of the week. Many MUN Mentors and students stay connected after the summer and continue to build MUN skills together.
